Recent Project: Thames Academy Website

PS&L earned much appreciated recognition by the 29th Annual Educational Advertising Awards for our design of the Thames Academy responsive website

Thames Academy at Mitchell College is unique in many ways and its what differentiates them that made this a great project to work on. Thames Academy students are not typical college prospects. They require more sensitivity to issues of learning qualifications and greater integration of parent participation in the decision and application process.

The key word in developing both the structure and aesthetic for the Thames website was “inclusion”. Thames prospects and their parents need to feel part of a supportive community from the get go – so they are nurtured through the recruitment cycle. To that end the site feels personal and the Thames Academy at experience is documented with both editorially rich imagery and parent testimonials.

Thames Academy is a residential post-graduate program for students with diagnosed learning disabilities, or other health impairments who can benefit from a structured learning and living experience that prepares them for the transition to college or a career. Unlike conventional post-grad programs offered at college preparatory schools, Thames includes college level courses for credit.
